I hope you are noticing small details this week, or reflecting about the impact on your life of past seemingly little events, words, encounters. Now if you happen to be an astronaut, heading for the moon…
In John Trent’s book “Heart Shift,” he recounts the conversation he had with a NASA scientist. John asked him “What happens if the missile is two degrees off the flight path after take-off?”
The man did a calculation, depending on some factors, like time of year and apogee of the moons’ orbit around the earth. His reply: “You will miss your point of orbital entry and miss the moon by 11,121 miles. (That’s almost 18,000 kilometers.)
May God give us a sense of the sacred for how He has created a world where calculations can be done accurately.
PS: In our daily lives, an attitude or habit that seems only a little bit “off” early in our lives, decades later can make us miss God’s best for us by a wide margin.
