Today is my 75 th birthday. How can I ever thank God enough for His gift of life to me? A few years ago, I wrote this poem…
Birthday Sonnet
I am perched on the edge of forever,
Eternity firm in my heart,
Not so much threatened now by life’s weather,
When God’s climate of peace I can chart,
Trace the path of His goodness and mercy,
Through the decades of my ups and downs.
There is Someone, the Light, that I must see,
And a Voice in my soul surely sounds
Like thunder sometimes, to be heeded,
But more often a whisper of grace.
It is always His Word that I’ve needed
And of course, just a glimpse of His face.
For my future, it rests in His firm hands,
May I follow His good “kingdom come” plans.
