March 30, 2025: Perspective Blog

March 30, 2025

Recently I heard someone say: “No matter what you think you know about a person and/or situation, there is always something more you do not know.” So true! And often I have felt rebuked by making some sort of judgment without seeing the whole picture.

Imagine a conversation between two small ants at a family reunion. (They must have reunions. King Solomon said that ants are very organized.) Both ants live in downtown Toronto.

Bobby Ant: “Toronto is just full of cement, dust, and garbage.”

Billy Ant: You are right, but also wrong. You live at the base of the CN Tower. I live at the top. There is much more to the city than you can see from where you live. I see beautiful buildings with sunrise making the windows red and yellow. Dust and garbage are too far away for me to notice. Colorful cars whiz by. The sky is painted blue!

Perspective. What a gift and a choice.
