    Some books are worth it just for their titles. Barbara Johnson wrote one called: Splashes of Joy in the Cesspool of Life.

   The chapter titles also bring their own chuckles:

  • Smile! It Kills Time Between Disasters

  • How to Lay Down Your Agonies and Pick Up Your Credentials

  • S.D.D.D.D. (Same Doo-Doo, Different Day)

  • Oh Lord, Let My Words Be Tender and Sweet, for Tomorrow I May Have to Eat Them!

She provides some other comments:

BLESSED IS THE WOMAN WHO CAN LAUGH AT HERSELF;

SHE WILL NEVER CEASE TO BE AMUSED.

An optimist laughs to forget;

A pessimist forgets to laugh.

 And finally, “Our five senses are incomplete without the sixth: a sense of humor.”

      More on laughter next week...
