Greetings! Good to be back at the blog. Am trusting that you and yours have stayed well during this pandemic.
Someone observed that the global virus and enforced limits on people’s lives has created a lot of philosophers with opinions about everything.
Perhaps this effect is an attempt to talk about everything so we can feel like we are in control of something. Yet surely COVID has shown us that we are not in control of much at all!
A few sermons ago, my pastor Todd Cantelon said that “It is good to be disillusioned, because we certainly do not want to be living under illusions.”
Hmmm…I have always thought of “disillusioned” as a negative word, but instead it is a positive one. It means we are being liberated from false assumptions and expectations. Wow! Do a happy dance…
No one has ever been more realistic than Jesus. He said “In this world you will have trouble, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Now when we experience troubles and hardships, we can say: “Oh, just what I was expecting. My Friend told me ahead of time…”
