Fall Splendor
Sunlight slices
Through the branches,
Leaving lemon wedges
On jade grass.
Overhead, autumn foliage
Rivals a sunrise, emulates a sunset.
Jagged leaves of persimmon, pink, and saffron
Are like coral reefs
Growing from the ground
Into the ocean of sky.
My eyes
Are the hands and feet
Of a deep-sea diver,
Swimming in the loveliness.
