December 29, 2019

Well, it is the last Sunday of this year, 2019 and this decade! Time for choosing the next “word of the year.” Hope  you have been doing this, as I have. It really does make it a “magnet” for my thoughts and attitudes.

I heard the echo of Nehemiah’s words: “The joy of the Lord is your strength” which pulled me through several disappointments and stresses, both my own and those of loved ones.

For me, the word of the year for 2020, should reflect the 20/20 perfect vision number! My word is expectancy. I want to be alert to seeing what God is doing in my life, in the lives of those I love, and in this world.

I am standing on mental tiptoes, anticipating surprises from a good God, Who always and only wants the best for me, His child.

PS:  May God keep me from false expectationsof my version of a perfect, pain-free life, or perfect people to meet all my needs! Expectations mean assumptions and impatience with others. In my thinking, expectancy means awe and wonder, letting God deliver as He pleases.
