Health: can’t live well without it! During a doctor’s visit, the topics are usually centered around symptoms, diet, and exercise. So I enjoyed watching Dr. Boz (no, not Oz) describe what she calls the Seven Pillars of Health:
Circadian Rhythms (sleep habits – especially before and after midnight, plus the number of sleep interruptions)
Food (using the BMI to assess our relationship with food)
Substances (caffeine, alcohol, opiates, other drugs)
Exercise (minimum 120 minutes per week)
Mental Mindset/Reactions
Faith/Purpose
Relationships (of note, the number of decades-long friendships, and the habit of forming ever- evolving new friends.)
I hope that I have not misquoted her, nor do I endorse everything she says but… she does have a specialty in Internal Medicine, and years of experience. A Youtube video where she describes these pillars comes under the title of: The truth about my husband is heartbreaking.
I have not yet watched any of her other videos, but I liked her attempt to address the whole person in treatment and diagnosis. Seems like a good idea!
