What Do We Find?
We come to school and find…
In math, the system of numbers, lines, and quantities
Reflects our God of order.
In biology, the study of living organisms
Speaks our God of life.
In physics, the study of matter’s properties
Shouts our God of intricate design.
In chemistry, the study of substances that compose matter
Expresses our God of predictable complexity.
In geography, the study of land, sea, atmosphere, and people
Articulates our God of place and provision.
In physical education, the study of movement and physiology
Announces our God of intricate anatomy.
In history, the study of past events
Declares our God of patience, planning the whole story.
In art, the study of emotive color and form
Illustrates our God of creative expression.
In drama, the study of dialogue, conflict, and characters
Affirms our God of personal interactions.
In languages, the study of mother-tongues
Explains our God of Father-love for all nations.
In literature, the study of human complexities and values
Reveals our God of humanity, and our need for truth.
In religion, the study of people trying to reach and please other gods,
Highlights mankind’s need for a Savior like Christ to bridge the gap and allow us to come near to a loving God, our Creator.
All this, not from some random bang in space, nor from a primordial soup.
That’s why we need faith in education.
