More thoughts about learning…With current technology, access to information is quite easy. But the apostle Paul warned that “knowledge puffs up.”* We can be proud of how much we know. Perhaps worse, what we think we have learned from online or other sources may simply not be true or accurate.
Arrogant or misinformed? These are not attractive or helpful options. Instead, how about these choices…
Ask! The apostle James said that if we lack wisdom, we should ask God.*
Look! Search first in the wisest book to give yourself the best values, guidelines, and truths. I love this definition of wisdom:
“But the wisdom from above is always pure, filled with peace, considerate and teachable. It is filled with love and never displays prejudice or hypocrisy in any form and it always bears the beautiful harvest of righteousness. Good seeds of wisdom’s fruit will be planted with peaceful acts by those who cherish making peace.”*
Reap! We can “plow” the fields of our minds and hearts with humility, plant seeds of God’s wisdom, and enjoy some of the results listed above.
Ask. Look. Reap. Sounds a bit like a famous book/movie title!
