Have you ever described yourself as a “friend of God”? God spoke face to face with Moses, leader of the Israelites, as one speaks to a friend. (Exodus 33:11)
Now this is the friendship most worth considering. The same God who created far-flung galaxies, who names each star, who formed you in your mother’s womb, wants to be your friend.
Human friendships are wonderful, but imperfect. No other person really knows us intimately and lavishly, yet loves us unconditionally.
I count it my life's greatest privilege to have a friendship with God, the Creator of the universe, Who sent His Son Jesus to die for my sins, and His Holy Spirit to comfort and guide me.
A good question to ask is:
What does it mean for you to have God as your friend?
(Good idea: Read about Jesus, starting in the gospel of John.
He was "someone with skin on" who lived real life here.)
