Gerald Horton Bath tells this story….

A missionary to Africa was explaining to his students how Christians give presents to express their love and joy at Christmas time.

On Christmas morning, one of these students presented to the missionary a seashell of great beauty.

“Where did you find such a lovely shell?” the missionary asked. The young man said that he had walked many miles to a certain bay, the only spot where such shells could be found.

The missionary was touched. “I think it’s wonderful for you to have travelled so far to get me this gift!”

The student answered, eyes sparkling: “Long walk, part of gift.”

Long walk, part of gift.

Will this describe something you do for another person this season?
